Bring Forth Fruit

Mark 4:14-20 The sower soweth the word. And these are they by the way side, where the word is sown; but when they have heard, Satan cometh immediately, and taketh away the word that was sown in their hearts. And these are they likewise which are sown on stony ground; who, when they have heard the word, immediately receive it with gladness; And have no root in themselves, and so endure but for a time: afterward, when affliction or persecution ariseth for the word's sake, immediately they are offended. And these are they which are sown among thorns; such as hear the word, And the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the word, and it becometh unfruitful. And these are they which are sown on good ground; such as hear the word, and receive it, and bring forth fruit, some thirtyfold, some sixty, and some an hundred.

My family is so thrilled to be successfully growing a small indoor vegetable garden. We recently purchased a neat little garden starter kit from Buzzy Seeds, unsure of how well it would do but willing to give it a try. To our delight, less than a week after we planted the seeds, tiny green sprouts began to arise from the beautiful rich soil. Now, less than a month later, our bell pepper, tomato, and lettuce plants are thriving and are daily growing fuller and larger. I find it so thrilling! =) Gorgeous green plant life excites me, especially since our snow began to melt only a month ago and we're just now seeing our first shoots of grass in the cold ground outdoors.

I have created a public folder in my Google account to share photos of our garden's progression; click here if you'd like to see it. We're hoping that the plants continue to do well and eventually bring forth edible fruit for our nourishment and health. Under suitable indoor conditions, we hopefully expect to continue our garden through the winter so our family will not have to go three months without eating a single fresh vegetable as we did last winter. What a blessing such provision would be during the cold, dark months! I shall update my Google album regularly as I take new photos.
